Meet your Captain
Hey, I’m Devin Hudson — born and raised right here in Metlakatla, Alaska. I grew up surrounded by the wild beauty of this island — from the whales that glide through our waters to the commercial fishing boats that have been a lifeline for generations. This place isn’t just my home — it’s part of who I am.
I’ve been running boats since I was 12 years old and have captained my own commercial fishing boat for the last 16 years. The ocean isn’t just where I work — it’s where I feel most at home. Whether it’s navigating tight island channels or spotting whales from a distance, I’ve spent my life learning how to read the water.
Wild Tide Tours was born from that deep connection — and a desire to share what makes Annette Island so special. As a member of the Metlakatla Indian Community, I have exclusive access to the waters within the Annette Island Reserve — meaning I can take you closer to the action, where others simply can’t go. That includes rare up-close views of whales, sea lions, eagles, and even the local salmon fishermen hard at work.
Whether you’re here for the wildlife, the adventure, or just to breathe in that crisp ocean air, I’m here to make sure you experience it all in comfort. This isn’t just a tour — it’s a chance to see Alaska through the eyes of someone who calls it home.
